Kasongan is the home of earthenware potters. While some of the modern designs are quite comical, pots used by the local people for holding water, cooking and decorations are also available. An enchanting way to see both villages and the surrounding countryside is by bicycle, experiencing the differences between bustling city life and the simpler one of villagers on a personal level. Several tour operators offer bicycling tours easy enough for novices through the outskirts of town. At mid-day, one of them treats cycles to a leisurely lunch in a special-built hut in a shrimp pond, the food cooked on-site.
