Parangtritis Beach Resort

Parangtritis has been famous for years, as not only a beach resort where sand dunes, sandy beaches and rocky cliffs meet, but it’s also an historical place pertaining to the mysterious legend of the Queen of the South Sea (Kanjeng Ratu Kidul). Located about 27 km from Jogjakarta, there are two routes to reach Parangtritis: The first route is Jogjakarta Kretek Parangtritis and is the most direct. The second Route is Jogjakarta Imogiri Siluk Parangtritis. This route is 35 km in distance and connects with a sequence of tourist sites including the Royal Cemetery, Kota Gede and Imogiri. This route offers very beautiful scenery: a combination of the river and a range of limestone hills. All sorts of vehicles can smoothly travel on these roads directly to the beach. Those who are interested in traveling by bus on either of these routes can take a bus from Giwangan station in Jogjakarta.
