Mount Merapi

Mount MerapiThe eternally smoking giant called Mount Merapi is one of the most active volcanoes found in Indonesia and is cloaked in a sleepy, dense forest. Beyond this, there are vast amounts of deserted land lying deep in the steep valleys trailing amongst the mountain hills. Sibilant pines and wild grass are the dominant vegetation, which only adds to the breathtaking panorama. During its resting time between volcanic activities, keen hikers and nature lovers, the experience of the energetic climb can climb the mountain and abundance of Flora and Fauna is a rewarding experience. From the observation post located on Plawangan hill reached via a forest trail from the resort of Kaliurang, you can see incredible sights of molten rocks, bubbling mud and occasionally hot lava pouring out at regular intervals leaving long trails of smoke. Mount Merapi is 2,920 m above sea level with an average temperature of about 10 degrees Celsius and the difference in temperature between noon and night is approximately 15-16 degrees. At present, this resort provides an outstanding and modern golf course, which sits 800 meters above sea level. It is located only 30 minutes drive from the city of Jogja and is an 18 hole, 72-par course open to the public.
