Kota gede

Kota gede Kotagede is the old city located in the Southern part of Jogja. Formerly, Kotagede was the capital of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom during the 16th century, when Panembahan Senopati was the first King. As the old city, Kotagede has many unique remnants that can still be seen now and have become a tourist attraction such as Royal Mosque, Hastarenggo Royal cemetery, The ‘Watu Gilang’ stone, the ancient fort, and traditional House of Kalang. Kota Gede is also well known as silver makers, whom you can watch working at their craft at any one of a number of shops.
